Mariners Defeat Monks and Eagles in Double Dual Meet

STANDISH, Maine – Maine Maritime Academy swimming competed against St. Joseph's College of Maine and Husson University on Friday evening on the campus of St. Joe's.

The Men's team defeated St. Joe's 174-66 and defeated Husson 137-113. The women's team fell to St. Joe's 140-98 and fell to Husson 190-63.

Men's Meet Highlights:
• Relay team of Brad Tibbetts (Boothbay Harbor, Maine), Isaac Weaver (Lamoine, Maine), Jack Valleau (Liberty, Maine), and Patrick McEneaney (Suffolk, Va.) placed first in the 200 yard medley with a time of 1:49.49.
• John Markillie (Richland, Wash.) set a new school record in the 1000 yard free, placing first overall with a time of 11:12.25, while John Egger (Marion, Mass.) placed third with a time of 11:41.49.
• John Gilpin (Portsmouth, R.I.) placed third in the 200 yard free with a time of 2:07.41.
• McEneaney placed first in the 50 yard back with a time of 30.37.
• Tibbetts placed second in the 50 yard breast with a time of 32.23, while Valleau placed third with a time of 35.88.
• McEneaney placed third in the 100 yard butterfly with a time of 1:05.01.
• Edward David (Englewood, Fla.) placed second overall in the 50 yard free with a time of 24.79.
• David placed second in the 100 yard free with a time of 54.76.
• Markillie finished first in the 200 yard back with a time of 2:14.84, while Tibbetts placed third with at time of 2:24.63.
• Weaver finished first in the 200 yard breast with a time of 2:36.53, McEneaney placed second with 2:41.87, while Egger placed third with a time of 2:42.07.
• Ryan Burke (Lyman, Maine) placed third in the 50 yard butterfly with a time of 31.70.
• Markillie, set a new school record, winning the 200 yard IM with a time of 2:12.92, while Egger placed third with a time of 2:21.42.
• Relay team of David, Egger, Gilpin, and Markillie placed second in the 200 yard free relay with a time of 1:39.85.

Women's Meet Highlights:
• Relay team of Amber Durant (Mansfield, Mass.), Kaitlyn Reny (Lewiston, Maine), Milo Cook-Sharp (Cape Elizabeth, Maine), and Audrey Aragon (Miami, Fla.) placed fourth in the 200 yard medley with a time of 2:15.96.
• Cook-Sharp placed second in the 1000 yard free with a time of 12:38.92, setting a new school record.
• Reny set a new school record, finishing second in the 200 yard free with a time of 2:20.23.
• Reny placed first in the 50 yard breast with a time of 36.93.
• Cook-Sharp finished third in the 100 yard butterfly with a time of 1:16.65, setting a new school record.
• Cook-Sharp set another school record placing first in the 200 yard IM with a time of 2:38.08.
