BIDDEFORD, Maine – Maine Maritime Academy women's cross country team finished in ninth place out of 11 teams at the UNE Invitational on Saturday.
Senior Abigail L'Abbé (Topsham, Maine) paced the Mariners, finishing in 46th place out of 133 runners on the 5k course, with a time of 23:11.7. Freshman Lily Cook (Southwest Harbor, Maine) finished in 49th, with a time of 24:14.8.
Freshman Milo Cook-Sharp (Cape Elizabeth, Maine) was the third Mariner to cross the finish line, in 57th place, with a time of 24:33.8. Senior Jessica Lindsay (Limestone, Maine) finished in 69th place with a time of 29:19.2. Sophomore Hannah Skorapa (Lincoln, Maine) rounded out the top five finishers for the Mariners, placing 72nd, with a time of 35:28.3.
Wellesley College took home the top spot with a team score of 27. Trinity College finished in second with a score of 58. University of New England rounded out the top three teams with a score of 61. Trinity's Samantha Feenstra was the top individual finisher with a time of 18:47.3.
The Mariners return to action at the UMass Dartmouth Invitational next Saturday, September 21st, at 12:00pm.
