NEW LONDON, N.H. – Maine Maritime Academy men's swimming defeated Gordon College 128-7 and Colby-Sawyer 104-44 on Saturday afternoon in the Knight Natatorium on the campus of Colby-Sawyer College.
Meet Highlights:
- The relay team of John Gilpin (Portsmouth, R.I.), Isaac Weaver (Lamoine, Maine), Joshua Roberts (Saco, Maine), Jack Valleau (Liberty, Maine) won the 200 yard medley relay with a time of 1:50.60, while the relay team of Edward David (Englewood, Fla.), Brad Tibbetts (Boothbay Harbor, Maine), John Markillie (Richland, Wash.) and John Egger (Marion, Mass.) placed second with a time of 1:53.73
- Egger placed second in the 200 yard free with a time of 2:00.45
- Markillie won the 50 yard free with a time of 23.67, Benjamin Mazgaj (Ellsworth, Maine) placed second with a time of 24.77, and Weaver finished third with a time of 24.98
- Patrick McEneaney (Suffolk, Va.) won the 200 yard IM with a time of 2:14.59 and Egger placed second with a time of 2:21.38
- Roberts finished second in the 100 yard butterfly with a time of 1:01.52, while Liam Naturale (Dingman's Ferry, Pa.) placed third with a time of 1:05.49
- Markillie set a new school record winning the 100 yard free with a time of 51.01, while McEneaney placed third with a time of 53.57
- Valleau finished second in the 100 yard back with a time of 1:03.44
- David won the 500 yard free with a time of 5:40.46 and Roberts placed second with a time of 5:47.09
- Egger won the 100 yard breast with a time of 1:11.36, while Roberts finished second with a time of 1:12.03
The Mariners return to action on Wednesday, January 29, when they host Husson in a dual meet at 5:00 PM in Bok Pool.
