Women's Basketball Tames Terriers for Season Sweep

WATERVILLE, Maine – Maine Maritime Academy women's basketball cruised to a 69-36 victory over Thomas College on Friday night in North Atlantic Conference (NAC) action inside of Mahaney Gymnasium.

How it Happened: The Mariners jumped out to a 18-10 lead after the first quarter and held the Terriers to single-digits in both the second and third quarters to cruise to their seventh-straight victory.

Inside the Numbers: Morgan Boudreau (Benton, Maine) led the Mariners with 12 points, five rebounds and a steal, while Melinda Ogden (Searsport, Maine) contributed 11 points, six rebounds and a steal and Lauren Plissey (Hermon, Maine) fell just shy of a double-double with nine points, nine rebounds, two blocks and two assists.

Addie Brinkman and Karli Stubbs led Thomas with six points each.

The Mariners shot 42.6 percent from the floor and 33.3 percent from behind the arc, while the Terriers shot 16.7 percent overall and 11.1 percent from three-point land. The Mariners held a 52-36 advantage in rebounds.

Up Next: The Mariners improve to 19-4 overall and 11-1 in the conference, while the Terriers drop to 10-13 on the season and 8-4 in the NAC. The Mariners return to action tomorrow, when they host UMaine-Farmington for Senior Day at 3:30 pm.
