CASTINE, Maine – Maine Maritime shutout Thomas College 2-0 on Saturday afternoon in a North Atlantic Conference (NAC) matchup.

How it Happened: Maine Maritime got off to a quick start when Jillian Holden (Madison, Maine) beat Madison Rock in the seventh minute to give the Mariners a 1-0 led, which held through halftime.

Kelsey Bern (Castle Rock, Wash.) added a goal in the 67th minute to extend the Mariner lead to 2-0.

Inside the Numbers: Maine Maritime held a strong 10-0 advantage in corners kicks and a 18-5 advantage in shots. Bess MacArthur (Castine, Maine) shutout the Terriers with two saves on the afternoon, while Rock and Isabelle Lang spilt time in net, recording two and three saves respectively.

Up Next: The Mariners improve to 5-3 overall and 4-0 in conference, while the Terriers fall to 3-6 overall and 3-2 in conference. Maine Maritime returns to action tomorrow, October 3 when they travel to Vermont to play NVU-Lyndon at 1:00 pm in a conference matchup.
