Box Score CASTINE, Maine - Maine Maritime women's soccer fell to Bowdoin College, 9-0 on Sunday afternoon in non-conference play at Ritchie Field.
How it Happened: Bowdoin tallied three quick goals in a six-minute span to pull ahead of the Mariners. Jamie Lau started off the scoring in the eighth minute to give the Polar Bears a 1-0 lead. Rachael Peacock and Greta Farkas contributed a goal each to take a 3-0 lead into halftime.
The Polars Bears scored six more goals in the second half to claim the 9-0 win.
Inside the Numbers: The Polar Bears held a 38-1 advantage in shots and a 11-0 advantage in corner kicks.
Bess MacArthur (Castine. Maine) tallied 11 saves for the Mariners, while Catherine Swift (Lunenburg, Mass.) came into net in the 62nd minute and made five saves. Penny Rocchio and Alex Arndt went untested this afternoon for the Polar Bears, splitting time in net.
