CASTINE, Maine – Maine Maritime Academy women's soccer picked up their first win of the season on Saturday afternoon with a 2-0 non-conference win over Eastern Nazarene College on Ritchie Field.

How it Happened: After a scoreless first 14 minutes, Kelsey Bern (Castle Rock, Wash.) put the Mariners ahead 1-0 on a cross from Suzanne Wooldridge (Corona, Calif.), which held through the remainder of the first half.

Emma White (New Sharon, Maine) scored her first collegiate goal in the 56th minute to extend the Mariners lead to 2-0 and ultimately sealed the win for the Mariners.

Inside the Numbers: The Mariners out shot the Lions 10-6 and held a slight 3-1 advantage in corner kicks.

Bess MacArthur (Castine, Maine) finished the day with four saves in the shutout victory, while Sophia Fevola made three saves in the loss for the Lions.

Up Next: The Mariners improve to 1-1 on the season, while the Lions fall to 1-1. Maine Maritime Academy returns to action on Tuesday evening, when they travel to face Bates at 8:00pm.
