BANGOR, Maine – Maine Maritime men's soccer fell to Husson University, 3-2 in the North Atlantic Conference (NAC) quarterfinals on Friday evening.
How it Happened: The Eagles struck in the 25
th minute when Mario Alvarez scored his third goal of the season. This score held through to halftime. In the 62
nd minute Ronald Morgan (Goffstown, N.H.) brought life to the Mariners as he scored his first goal of the season, assisted by Pieter Oudejans (Rockledge, Fla.). In the 73
rd minute Husson struck back as Mario Alvarez scored again, making it his fourth goal of the season. In the 81
st minute Miguel Morales put up another goal for Husson, being assisted by Alejandro Mora. In the 87
th minute Brad McKechnie (Passadumkeag, Maine) brought hope to the Mariners as he scored his first goal of the season making it a 3-2 game. Right after, in the 89
th minute Trevor Gray (Gorham, Maine) saved a penalty kick, keeping the Mariners in the game. This score held till the end of the game and the Mariners fell 3-2 to the Eagles.
