CASTINE, Maine – #1 Maine Maritime volleyball beat #4 UMaine- Presque Isle, 3-0 (25-15, 25-10, 25-9) in a North Atlantic Conference (NAC) quarterfinal matchup on Saturday afternoon.
How it Happened: Maine Maritime started off with a nine-point run in the first set to make the score 16-7 over the Owls and never looked back to claim a 25-15 win. In the second set, the Mariners scored eight consecutive points to jump to a quick lead and eventually win the set. The Mariners continued to dominate in the third set, winning 3-0.
Inside the Numbers:
- Rachel Melampy (Duxbury, Mass.) tallied game-highs ten kills, on .643 hitting and 17 digs.
- Katie Albritton (Hutto, Texas) dished out a game-high 35 assists, along with five digs and two kills.
- Hunnie Zuber-Stephens (Lubbock, Texas) recorded a game-high five aces, along with ten digs.
- The Mariners hit .372 as a team.
- Makayla Miskiewicz hit three kills and tallied nine digs.
- Hailey Kelly dished out six assists.
