Kirra Magaña (Miami, Fla.) scored her first goal of the season to lead the Mariners to a 1-0 victory against UMaine-Presque Isle in their North Atlantic Conference (NAC) opener.

How it Happened: The Mariners got on the board early in the first half when
Hazel Stoddard (Old Orchard Beach, Maine) sent a cross to Magaña who found the back of the net in the sixth minute of play. This was the only goal of the afternoon as both teams were able to contain the opponents offense for the rest of the match.

- Magaña scored the first goal of her sophomore campaign.
- The Owls held a 1-0 advantage in corner kicks and a 11-4 advantage in shots over the Mariners.
- Bess MacArthur (Castine, Maine) tallied two saves in net for the Mariners.
