Cook-Sharp Paces Mariners at UMass Dartmouth Invitational

NORTH DARTMOUTH, Mass. – Maine Maritime Academy women's cross country raced in the UMass Dartmouth Invitational on Saturday morning, finishing 39th out of 39 teams.

How it Happened: Senior Milo Cook-Sharp (Cape Elizabeth, Maine) led the Mariners, finishing 254th out of 285 runners, with a time of 24:25.57 on the 5k course. Sophomore Erin Kinser (Cashmere, Wash.) placed 256th, with a time of 24:36.87. Senior Sarah Smith (Kirkland, Wash.) finished 258th, with a time of 24:44.99.

Fifth-year Joanna Howard (Eliot, Maine) placed 262nd, with a time of 25:10.23 and junior Darby Cendoma (Livonia, N.Y.) rounded out the Mariners' top-five finishers, placing 283rd, with a time of 29:02.06.

Inside the Numbers: UMass Lowell claimed first place with a team score of 54 and total time of 1:31:55.59, Stonehill placed second with a team score of 120 and a total time of 1:33:19.80, and Southern New Hampshire University placed third with a team score of 121 and total time of 1:33:12.86. Mount Holyoke's Lauren Selkin placed first with a time of 17:49.26, SNHU's Ashley Corcoran finished second with a time of 17:56.58, and Coast Guard's Claire Semerod placed third with a time of 18:02.91.

Up Next: Maine Maritime returns to action next Saturday, September 24, when they travel to Brunswick, Maine to race in the Bowdoin Invitational at 11:30am.
