BOSTON, Mass. – Maine Maritime sailing finished third out of seven teams in the Harvard 420 Invitational hosted by Harvard University on Saturday afternoon.
Â
How it Happened: A sunny and windy Charles river greeted the sailors at the Harvard 420 Invitational. Seven races were completed in 10-20 knot conditions, that saw plenty of tight racing.
Maine Maritime sailors finished in third place behind the Northeastern Huskies and Olin Phoenix. Mariners,
Nathan Hyde (Saco, Maine) and
Amelia Griffith (Castine, Maine) raced in the A Division, while
Anna LaDue (Canterbury, N.H.) and
Fox Fernald (Portland, Maine) raced in the B Division. The confidence the sailors gained, sailing in unfamiliar waters with shifty winds and being able to adapt to changing conditions and continuously perform, was invaluable. Thank you to Harvard for hosting a great regatta!

Up Next: Maine Maritime returns to action at the Smith Trophy hosted by MIT and the Lark Invite hosted by Tufts University next weekend.
