Box Score CASTINE, Maine – Maine Maritime women's basketball beat UMaine-Presque Isle 84-67 in a North Atlantic Conference (NAC) matchup on Thursday evening.
 
How it Happened: The first quarter was filled with competitive back-and-forth action, with multiple lead changes. Kali Barber (Tampa, Fla.) ended the quarter with a layup to give the Mariners a two point lead. The second quarter had similar action, favoring the Mariners who led by eight at one point and took a three point lead at the half.
 
Maria Barela (Albuquerque, N.M.) nailed two back-to-back threes to jump start a Mariner run in the second half. Maine Maritime continued building their lead, winning by seven points at the end of the third quarter. The Mariners dominated the fourth quarter, outscoring the Owls by ten to claim an 84-67 victory.
 
Inside the Numbers:

• Barela dropped 27 points, six rebounds, six assists, and four steals.
• Lauren Plissey (Hermon, Maine) recorded a double-double with 15 points and 13 rebounds, along with five blocks and one assist.
• Erianna Moore (Fitchburg, Mass.) added 12 points, nine rebounds, four blocks, and one steal.
• Grace Huntwork (Gretna, Neb.) chipped in 11 points, three rebounds, four assists, and one steal.
• Emily Wheaton scored 23 points, while Aleia Milano and Alexis Ireland added 17 points each for the Owls.
• Maine Maritime shot 46.5% from the floor and 42.3% from the three point line, while UMaine-Presque Isle shot 38.1% from the hardwood and 40% from three point land.
