Box Score CASTINE, Maine – Maine Maritime men's basketball fell to Cazenovia College 69-88 in a conference matchup on Saturday afternoon.
 
How it Happened: Cazenovia College jumped to a quick 19-9 start in the first half. The Mariners then started chipping away at the Wildcat's led, bringing the score with in one with four minutes left in the half. The Wildcats finished the half strong, taking a seven point lead going into halftime.
 
Cazenovia continued to extend their lead in the second half and the Mariners just couldn't string enough plays together to catch back up. The Wildcats ended with a 19 point victory.
 
Inside the Numbers:

• Connor Tuerff (Hendersonville, Tenn.) led the Mariners with 16 points and one rebound.
• Malachi Reincke added 12 points, two rebounds, one assist, and one steal into the mix.
• Bogart recorded a game-high 32 points, while Sage tallied 27 points for the Wildcats.
• Maine Maritime shot 41.5% from the hardwood and 41.9% from three point land, while Cazenovia shot 50% from the floor and 43.5% from beyond the arc.

 
Up Next: Maine Maritime falls to 5-6 overall and 2-1 in conference, while Cazenovia College improves to 8-5 overall and 4-1 in conference. The Mariners return to action in a non-conference matchup on Tuesday, January 10 at 7:00pm when they host Lesley in Smith Gym.
