ORONO, Maine – Maine Maritime Academy men's swimming and diving team opened up the 2023-24 season against the University of Maine, Orono in a Friday night non scoring meet at Wallace Pool.
 
Men's Team Highlights:

• John Markillie, Aidan Burke, Jace Chouinard, and Carson Trout teamed up in the 200 yard medley relay and placed fifth with a final time of 1:43.71.
• Chouinard also had a notable finish in the 200 yard freestyle placing fourth touching the wall at 1:51.99.
• Trout completed the 50 yard freestyle in 22.33, finishing the event in third place.
• On the diving board, Oliver Cox placed third in the 1 mtr dive with a score of 147.90.
• Markillie brought home another third place finish for the Mariners in the 100 yard IM with a time of 58.90.
• In the 200 yard IM Lincoln Graf completed the event in 2:20.03 earning him fifth.

 
Up Next: The Mariners are back in the pool tomorrow on Oct, 21 when they travel to Bangior Maine for a match against Husson University.
