Men’s Soccer Drops in NAC Quarterfinals

BANGOR, Maine – Maine-Farmington's Adow Mohamed scored two goals a little over two minutes apart in the late stages of the game to lead the Beavers to a 3-1 win over Maine Maritime in the North Atlantic Conference (NAC) Quarterfinals.

Adow broke a 1-1 tie midway through the 85th minute, cleaning up a scramble in front of the Mariners net. He struck again two minutes and 17 seconds later to put the game out of reach and send the Beavers onto the NAC Semifinals where they will face Husson.

Farmington got on the board first on a misplayed ball to the keeper resulting in an own goal at the 29:23 mark. The Mariners quickly righted the ship when John-John Dickenson had an easy finish on a one-on-one with the Farmington keeper, set up by Rueben Harrison 4:35 later. The goal was Dickenson's eighth of the season, and the assist was Harrison's sixth, both team-highs for the year.

Reagan Moynihan was in net for the Mariners and ended the contest with seven saves. Jackson Leach finished the game with one save for Farmington. The Beavers outshot Maine Maritime 20-7 and held a 7-2 advantage in corner kicks.

Maine Maritime closes the season at 8-7-2, while Farmington extended their season improving to 9-7-2.
