Mariners fans filled the stands for the first contest of the season against the University of New England.

"Excited to finally have the first one." Said head coach Calvin Powell, "The crowd was awesome! Clearly not the outcome we wanted but now we know where we are. Now time to learn from the experience and use it for the growth of the program". 
 
Maine Maritime Academy reinstated its NCAA Division III Football Program this year with varsity competition set to begin in 2025. The Mariners will began competition as a sub-varsity program this season and continue to replenish the roster through a sub-varsity 2024 season
