Erianna Moore earned a double-double with 18 points and a career high 16 rebounds, leading the way in Maine Maritime's season opener victory over the St. Joseph's University Brooklyn Bears (1-1).

The Mariners scored the first point of the contest off a made free throw from
Sydney Briscoe. The Bears then scored the next five points to gain a small lead. From there, the Mariners took over, going on a 19-0 run to end the quarter with a 15 point lead. The Mariners continued to dominate in the second quarter, going into halftime with a 26 point lead, their biggest of the game.

Maine Maritime held their lead for the rest of the contest and ended the game with a final score of 87-62.

Briscoe also completed the contest with a double-double, ending with 12 points and rebounds.

Kristen Donovan led all scorers, ending with 20 points for the Bears.

The Mariners return to the court tomorrow with a game against John Jay College beginning at 2:00 pm.
