HOPKINTON, N.H. – Maine Maritime Academy men's cross country placed 25th out of 34 teams at the 2023 NCAA DIII East Regional Championship, hosted by Suffolk University at the Hopkinton Fairgrounds on Saturday afternoon.
Junior
Ponce Saltysiak (Bar Harbor, Maine) paced the Mariners, finishing 64th in the 229-runner field, with a time of 26:37.19 on the 8k course, while first-year
Joey Valliere (Brunswick, Maine) finished 158th, with a time of 29:32.78.
Junior
John Beres (Shoreline, Wash.) finished 166th, with a time of 29:51.14. First-year
Logan Serpico (Lewes, Del.) finished 173rd, with a time of 30:27.85 and junior
Shail Leszkowicz (Marlton, N.J.) rounded out the top-five finishers for the Mariners, placing 200th, with a time of 31:55.23.
MIT finished first with a team score of 35 and total time of 2:04:08, Tufts College placed second with a team score of 57 and total time of 2:05:07, and Bates College finished third with a team score of 97 and total time of 2:06:34. MIT's Sam Acquaviva was the top finisher with a time of 24:36.21.
This concludes the Mariners 2023 fall season.
