Evelyn Dagan scored a career high 23 points to lead the Mariners to a 73-63 win over John Jay College (1-1), bringing MMA to 2-0 on the start on the season.

Dagan opened up the contest with a three pointer for the Mariners, followed by another made three from
Makenzie Monzon to take the early lead. John Jay fought back however, going on a seven point run and ending the first with a 19-14 lead.

The Mariners then scored the first nine points of the second quarter to regain their lead before John Jay battled back to end the quarter with the Mariners down by one. MMA opened up the third quarter with a 10 point run to put themselves up by nine. The Mariners headed into the fourth with a four point lead. MMA remained strong in the fourth to win the contest.

Sydney Briscoe also had a strong showing for the Mariners earning her second straight double-double. Briscoe ended the game with 13 rebounds and 12 points. She also tallied two assists and three steals.

The Mariners return home to Castine for their next contest on Nov. 14 against Bowdoin College beginning at 7:00 pm.
