HOPKINTON, N.H. – Maine Maritime Academy women's cross country placed 33rd out of 34 teams at the 2023 NCAA DIII East Regional Championship, hosted by Suffolk University at the Hopkinton Fairgrounds on Saturday afternoon.
Fifth-year
Milo Cook-Sharp (Cape Elizabeth, Maine) paced the Mariners placing 176th in the 231-runner field, with a time of 28:54.88 on the 6k course. Junior
Aubrey Mitchell (Spofford, N.H.) placed 197th with a time of 30:44.40.
Sophomore
Kylie Cantlon (Burke, Va.) finished 214th with a time of 34:06.12. First-year
Lillian Diversi (Gardiner, Maine) placed 216th with a time of 34:32.96 and sophomore
Lillian Verrill (Pittsfield, Maine) rounded out the top-five finishers for the Mariners, finishing 219th, with a time of 34:54.14.
MIT claimed the top spot with a team score of 27 and total time of 1:51:05, Bates College placed second with a team score of 81 and total time of 1:52:23, and WPI finished third with a team score of 100 and total time of 1:51:56. WPI's Grace Hadley took the top spot, completing the course in 20:48.86.
This concludes the Mariners 2023 fall season.
