Mariners Downed by Amherst College in NCAA Tournament

BABSON PARK, Mass.– Maine Maritime Academy women's soccer (15-5-1) fell in the opening round of the NCAA Tournament to Amherst College (17-1-1) by a score of 0-5.
 
Alyssa Huynh and Liza Katz led the way for Amherst, each scoring one goal and picking up two assists. Abby Schwartz, Fiona Bernet, and Carter Hollingsworth netted the other three goals of the contest and Ally Deegan earned an assist.
 
For the Mariners, Isa Thesing appeared in net the full 90 minutes for the Mariners, ending with 18 saves. Sierra Hoops, Hazel Stoddard, Kirra Magaña, and Emma White each also saw the field for the full 90 minute contest.
 
In the match, Magaña, Delaney Ennis, Abby Wong, and Sophia Hernandez each got a shot off for the Mariners.
