CASTINE, Maine – Maine Maritime Academy women's volleyball (21-6, 10-1) fell in the North Atlantic Conference (NAC) Championship Finals in a close battle with the Eastern Nazarene College Lions (28-2, 11-0).

The Mariners opened up the first set scoring the first two points and held their lead the entire first set to win 25-23. Maine Maritime continued their momentum going into the second set, scoring the first four points and maintaining their lead for the remainder of the set, winning again by a score of 25-23.

The Lions had a strong third set that included a seven point run to put them up by eight. The Lions won the set 25-11. ENC began strong in the fourth set, scoring the first three points. ENC ultimately won the set 25-18.

The fifth set began with a kill from
Chloe Weeks for the Mariners. Weeks was second for the Mariners in kills, ending the day with 13. The Lions scored the next four points to take the lead. Finding themselves down 10-14, the Mariners scored the next three points that included a kill from
Ila Smith, an attack error, and a kill from Maine Maritime's leader
Sydney Williams. ENC finished the contest with a kill from Piper Bolner to win the set and become the NAC Champions.

Along with Williams 15 kills, she also finished the day with 16 digs and a spot on the All-Tournament Team. Smith also earned a spot on the All-Tournament Team, finishing the game with 11 kills, four digs, and four blocks.

For the Lions, Piper Bolner and Amanda Pierce each made the All-Tournament Team and Telma Zelaya was named the Tournament MVP.
