Women’s Basketball Downed by Williams

WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass – Maine Maritime Academy women's basketball team (2-2) were downed by Williams College (2-0) by a final score of 50-77.
 
Erianna Moore led all Mariners scoring 12 points along with four rebounds, three blocks and two steals and assists.
 
After securing the first bucket of the contest, the Mariners found themselves down by 15 going into halftime. The Mariners brought it within nine after two made free throws from Jacquelin Castro in the third. However, Williams held strong with their lead, including going on a 11 point run to open the fourth to ultimately win the contest.
 
Arianna Gerig led all scorers, ending with 17 for Williams. Gerig also gathered eight rebounds, five assists, and one block.
 
The Mariners take the court tomorrow against William Paterson University at 1:00 pm.
