CASTINE, Maine – Maine Maritime Academy men's basketball (1-0) won their first game of the season against Central Maine Community College (CMCC) by a score of 77-59.

Carter Rubin and
Markus Ramirez led the way for the Mariners each scoring 18 in the victory. Rubin nailed five threes in the contest and Ramirez went 7-11 in field goals.

The Mariners showed a team effort in their season opener with 10 Mariners scoring. Along with Rubin and Ramirez, Isaiah Oqendo and
Curt Heinz each scored in double digits, tallying 11 a piece.

CMCC was led by Boston Caldwell who scored 20 in the contest, the most of any player on the floor for either squad.

The Mariners remain at home for their next contest against the University of Maine Augusta on Friday, Nov. 10 at 7:00 pm.
