BUZZARDS BAY, Mass. – Maine Maritime men's lacrosse fell to Massachusetts Maritime 13-9 in the Admiral Cup on Saturday afternoon.

How it Happened: The Buccaneers got off to a quick start against the Mariners, scoring four straight goals to open up the game.
Jayden Wilson (Lewiston, Maine) put the Mariners on the board with three minutes left in the first quarter to spark a four goal run for the Mariners to knot the game up. Mass. Maritime answered with three goals of their own late in the second quarter to bring the score to 7-4 going into halftime.

The Buccaneers continued to build on their lead in the third quarter, scoring three more goals in the first five minutes to go up 10-4. Maine Maritime answered with two man-up goals from Wilson and
Caden White (Woodstock, Vt.) to cut the Buccaneers led to four. The two teams went back-and-forth in the fourth quarter, but the Buccaneers came out on top with a score of 13-9.

Inside the Numbers:
- Wilson led the Mariners with three goals, while Jacob Hintermaier (Macon, Georgie) added two.
- White, Jacob Belanger (Brunswick, Maine), Alex Stevens (South Portland, Maine), and Brendan Reddington (Wallingford, Conn.) each added one goal to the mix.
- Jed Astbury (Bridgewater, Vt.) went 12-26 at the x and picked up a game-high eight ground balls.
- Mitchell Maida tallied four goals, while Gage Coolahan added three for the Buccaneers.
- Garrett Ruszkowski (Saugus, Mass.) tallied 11 saves in net for Mariners, while Dean Fey recorded 14 saves for the Buccaneers.
