UTICA, NY – Maine Maritime men's lacrosse beat SUNY Poly 14-11 in a North Atlantic Conference matchup on Friday evening.

How it Happened: The Wildcats started off strong against the Mariners, scoring four straight goals, before Maine Maritime got on the board with a three goal run. Each team scored two more goals in the first to make the score 5-4. The two teams went back-and-forth in the second quarter and
Jacob Hintermaier (Macon, Ga.) scored a goal at the end of the quarter to knot the game at seven going into the half.

The third quarter has similar action as the second, with each team scoring two goals to stay tied going into the fourth. Maine Maritime dominated the fourth quarter, outscoring the Wildcats 6-2 including two man-down goals to claim a 14-11 victory.

Inside the Numbers:
- Hintermaier led the Mariners with four goals and one assist, along with a ground ball and caused turnover.
- Brendan Reddington (Wallingford, Conn.) tallied three goals and one assist, while Jayden Wilson (Lewiston, Maine) added two goals and one assist.
- Five other Mariners had one goal each.
- Jed Astbury (Bridgewater, Vt.) picked up a game-high eight ground balls and went 15-29 from the faceoff
- Luke Taylor had three goals, while three Wildcats had two goals each.
- Garrett Ruszkowski (Saugus, Mass.) picked up the win for the Mariners with 13 saves in net, while Joseph VanZandt recorded 14 saves for the Wildcats.
- SUNY Poly held a 47-42 advantage in shots and a 32-30 edge in ground balls over the Mariners.
