Mariners Finish 9th at Monks Invitational

STANDISH, Maine – Maine Maritime Academy men's cross country finished ninth out of 17 teams at the Monks Invitational on Saturday, April 15.

Inside the Numbers:
  • Ponce Saltysiak (Bar Harbor, Maine) placed 8th in the 800 meter run (2:09.05).
  • Saltysiak finished 1st in the 1,500 meter run (4:17.53), while Theodore Zinox (Highland Park, Ill.).
  • Cooper Parlee (Brewer, Maine) placed 6th in the 5,000 meter run (17:02.50).
  • Benjamin Butterfield (Phillips, Maine) came in 3rd in the 3,000 meter steeplechase (11:00.72), while Parlee finished 5th (11:15.87).
  • Relay team of John Beres (Shoreline, Wash.), Butterfield, Zane Chubet (Plantsville, Conn.), and Saltysiak came in 4th in the 4x400 meter relay (3:55.77).
