CASTINE, Maine – Maine Maritime Academy women's soccer team wins their first game of the 2023 season against SMMCC 2-1.
Goal #1 (MMA): The Mariners scored their first goal of the game at 59:01 with a solo shot from
Kirra Magaña into the middle of the net.
Goal #2 (SMCC): Southern Maine Community College answered with a goal of their own. Mia Pasciuto scored the lone goal for the Seawolves at 70:07 with a header into the net.
Goal #3 (MMA): The Mariners goal to seal the game came at 84:12.
Lillyanna Ash set up at the 20 yard line and had a string kick that propelled the ball up and over the goalie to secure the win for the Mariners. This was Ash's first collegiate goal.
Notes
- Grayson Soldati was in net for Southern Maine Community College and had eight saves.
- Isa Thesing was in net for the first half for MMA and Caitlin Schilbe stayed in net for the second half, neither had any saves on the night.
