• The Mariners have an 2023 season record of 5-1 after going 2-1 at the Bates Invitational last weekend.
• After falling to Clark University 0-3 on the first day of the Invitational, the Mariners had a sweep on Saturday first defeating Western Connecticut State 3-2 and then downing Bates 3-0.
• Against Western Connecticut the Mariners were led by Sydney Williams in kills (13), Ila Smith in blocks (3), Annabel Frieden in assists (31), and Sydney Rich in digs (14).
• Hunnie Zuber-Stephens and Annabel Frieden tied leading the team in aces with three.
• In the first set, MMA went on a seven point run. During this run, he first three kills were from Sydney Williams, Sam Urch, and ended with Williams again. A service ace from Katie Albritton followed by two attack errors gave the next three points. The run ended with a kill from Katie Albritton.
• The Mariners won the set 25-22.
• After losing the second set, The Mariners bounced back in set two, going on a six point run where five different Mariner's got kills (Hunnie Zuber-Stephens, Chloe Weeks, Sydney Rich, Ila Smith, and Ally Hadley) and Annabel Frieden and Ila Smith got a block.
• The Mariners ended the set with a kill by Williams with a final score of 25-10.
• Maine Maritime closely lost the fourth set 25-23.
• In the final set, Maine Maritime had it tied at 14, Chloe Weeks got the kill for point 15 and an attack error gave the Mariners point 16 and the 3-2 match win.
• Against Bates, MMA was led by Ally Hadley in kills (10), Hunnie Zuber-Stephens in aces (5), Chloe Weeks in blocks (2), Katie Albritton in assists (26), and Sydney Rich in digs (9).
• In the first set, the Mariners went on an early 6 point run that started with a kill from Hunnie Zuber-Stephens.
• Already with a lead of 9-6, MMA scored points 10 through 19 to give themselves a large lead.
• The set ended with back to back kills from Sydney Williams and Ila Smith to give MMA a 25-14 set win.
• With the second set tied at 17, the Mariners scored four straight points with a kill from Weeks, attack error, a kill from Williams, and a service ace.
• Ending kills from Zuber-Stephens and Katie Albritton won the Mariners the set 25-19.
• In set three, the Mariners longest run was scoring points seven through 11 to give them an 11-4 lead.
• Chloe Weeks gave the Mariners their 25^th point and a dominant win of 25-12.
