PRESQUE ISLE, Maine – Maine Maritime Academy women's cross country placed fifth overall at the North Atlantic Conference (NAC) Preview Meet hosted by the University of Maine at Presque Isle on Sunday afternoon.
How it Happened: Fifth-year
Milo Cook-Sharp (Cape Elizabeth, Maine) led the Mariners finishing 12th out of 37 runners, on the 6k course with a time of 30:56.8, while junior
Aubrey Mitchell (Spofford, N.H.) finished 17th with a time of 33:42.2.
Sophomore
Kylie Cantlon (Burke, Va.) finished 24th with time of 36:25.6, sophomore
Lillian Verrill (Pittsfield, Maine) placed 30th with a time of 42:12.8, and first-year
Lillian Diversi (West Gardiner, Maine) rounded out the top-five finishers for the Mariners finishing 32nd with a time of 43:12.0.
Inside the Numbers: Husson University claimed the top overall spot with a team score of 26 and total time of 2:16:56, the University of Maine at Farmington placed second with a team score of 49 and total time of 2:28:09, and the University of Maine at Presque Isle finished third with a team score of 83 and total time of 2:50:24. Husson's Ava Dowling was the top finisher with a time of 25:37.3, while UMF's Joy Evans and Husson's Payton Goodwin placed second and third with times of 25:39.8 and 25:52.0 respectively.
