FARMINGTON, Maine – Maine Maritime Academy men's basketball team (10-11,4-6) fell to the University of Maine Farmington Beavers (14-8,7-5) by a final score of 71-68.

With the game tied at four a piece,
Curt Heinz scored back to back layups to give the Mariners an early four-point lead. The Mariners held a lead for the remainder of the first half. MMA went into halftime with a 34-30 lead.

The Mariners began the second on a five-point fun with a jumper from Heinz, a three from
Carter Rubin, and a layup from
Jack Banks. This extended the Mariners lead to 41-30. The Beavers managed to battle back and took a 53-51 lead with just under 10 minutes to go. This was Farmington's first lead of the second half. The Mariners and Beavers remained back and forth for the rest of the game. Farmington nailed four late free throws that helped them defeat the Mariners by three.

Heinz ended the night with a double-double on 25 points, 14 rebounds, five assists, four steals, and two blocks.
Carter Rubin and
Josiah Dancy each ended the night in double figures for the Mariners. Rubin finished the game with 14 and Dancy secured 12.
