CONTOOCOOK, N.H.--The Maine Maritime Academy men's cross country team scored 567 points to finish in 18th place out of 38 schools at the NCAA Division III East Region Championships hosted by Suffolk University on the Hopkinton State Fairgrounds on Saturday.
Senior
Ponce Saltysiak led Maine Maritime with a clocking of 26 minutes and 12.22 seconds on the 8-kilometer course for 45th overall. Freshman
William Spaulding (26:54.29, 63rd), junior
Cooper Parlee (27:54.63, 109th), sophomore
Logan Serpico (30:24.61, 163rd) and freshman
Caden Dussault (32:09.96, 197th) also contributed to the final team score.
In addition, senior
Shail Leszkowicz (33:24.52, 208th) and freshman
Maddox Ryan (39:57.65, 224th) ran for the Mariners, who conclude their 2024 season.
MIT defeated Tufts, 43-61, for the team regional crown, while Keene State College senior Jake Velazquez won the individual title in 24:35.22.
