CASTINE, Maine --
Grace Huntwork scored a game-high 17 points to lead Maine Maritime in a 101-43 win over Thomas in the North Atlantic Conference East Division Semifinals Friday night. Huntwork was one of five Mariners (21-4) to finish the game in double figures. It was the Mariners third win over the Terriers (9-16) in a one-week span.
Huntwork went 5-for-8 from beyond the arc including a three-pointer in the game's decisive run. The Mariners broke the game open early with a 13-0 run in the back half of the first quarter sparked by a
Makenzie Monzon three-pointer. Huntwork and
Erianna Moore followed on with their own treys and Maine Maritime never looked back.
Jacquelin Castro recorded 12 points and six rebounds to join Huntwork in double figures.
Maria Barela chipped in with 11 points and six rebounds. Moore and
Sydney Briscoe scored 10 apiece, with seven and five rebounds respectively. Moore added six assists and three steals.
The Mariners got points from 14 of the 15 players on the roster in the win.
Sky Kubwalo led Thomas with 11 points.
With the win, the Mariners advance to the NAC East Division Finals on Saturday at 2:00 pm where they will face either Husson or Maine-Presque Isle.
