Box Score LEWISTON, Maine--Maine Maritime Academy gave host Bates College all it could handle in a 2-0 defeat in non-conference women's soccer action at Russell Street Track and Field on Monday evening. Maine Maritime drops to 3-3-1 on the season while the Bobcats up their record to 4-1-1 overall.

- Senior Kirra Magaña, who is a three-time North Atlantic Conference Player of the Week already in 2024, led the Mariners offense with five shots.
- Sophomore Taylor Webster added two shots.
- Junior Ella Bowes (1 goal allowed, 4 saves for a career high, 66 minutes played) and sophomore Isa Thesing (1 GA, 1 save, 24 MP) split time in goal.
BC Highlights
- Olivia Becker and Eleanor Martin scored the Bates goals.
- Sydney Litney (2 saves) and Samantha Bunar (1) also shared minutes in the home goal, with the former earning the win and both keepers credited with a combined shutout.
How It Happened
- Bates got all the goals it would need in the first half when Mollie Franklin fed Martin for her second goal of the season in the 15th minute and Becker netted her first in the 37th minute on a feed from Hannah Ribeiro.
- The Bobcats outshot the Mariners, 21-11, including 7-5 with shots on goal.
- MMA dominated on corner kicks,7-3.
- The Mariners controlled the majority of the possession for the second half.
- Senior defender Hazel Stoddard had one of the Mariners best scoring opportunities in the 73rd minute, but Bunar made a diving save to preserve the shutout.
