CASTINE, Maine — The Maine Maritime Academy football program announced Wednesday the addition of
Arnell Anderson as its new wide receivers coach.
"We're excited to welcome
Arnell Anderson to our staff," head football coach
Nick Sheehan said. "He brings great energy, knowledge and a passion for developing young men on and off the field. His experience and commitment to the game will be a big asset as we continue building our program here at Maine Maritime."
Anderson arrives at Maine Maritime after playing in the National Arena League for the past two seasons with the Oklahoma Flying Aces, Colorado Spartans, Carolina Cobras and the Coralville Chaos.
During his time in the arena league, Anderson also coached running backs at McKendree University for the 2024-25 season and was with Mascoutah (Illinois) High School as a running backs and defensive backs coach from 2023-24.
"I am blessed and extremely excited to be here," Anderson said. "I want to create a championship culture and even better men. Hunt Dawgs over Show Daws! Anchors Up!"
A native of Chicago, Anderson earned an associate degree in kinesiology from Riverside Community College, a bachelor's degree in business management from Davenport University and a Master of Business Administration from McKendree.
Additionally, Anderson played collegiate football as a defensive back and linebacker for Illinois State University, Riverside, Davenport and McKendree, and was a FAF preseason All-American.
