BANGOR, Maine — Sophomore Auston Harris became the first Maine Maritime Academy running back since 2014 to surpass the 1,000-yard rushing mark, highlighting the Mariners' 48-7 regular-season finale loss at Husson on Saturday.

Husson (4-6, 3-4 CNE) struck early with a pair of first-quarter touchdowns and added three more scores in the second quarter to take a 35-0 halftime lead.

Maine Maritime (0-10, 0-7 CNE) broke through in the fourth quarter when Harris ripped off a 64-yard touchdown run, his seventh score of the season, trimming the deficit to 42-7. The Eagles responded with a late touchdown to extend their lead to 48-7.

On MMA's final drive of the season, Harris delivered one more milestone moment. Taking a direct snap, he powered left for an eight-yard gain—enough to push him to 1,005 rushing yards on the year and officially cap the Mariners' first full season back on the field.

Harris finished the day with 145 yards on 28 carries, marking his fifth 100-yard game of the season and his second straight week over the century mark.

Junior Ty Regis hauled in five receptions for 27 yards.

Defensively, sophomore Matt Gagin paced the Mariners with eight tackles and a forced fumble. Sophomores Lucas Houghton and Tristan Valentine, along with freshman Connor Cuba, each added seven tackles, with Cuba also forcing a fumble.
