DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. — The Maine Maritime Academy women's basketball team dropped its final game of the Daytona Beach Shootout 65-42 to Worcester Polytechnic Institute in non-conference action on Sunday.
WPI (6-3) and Maine Maritime (6-3) battled to a tightly-contested opening quarter with WPI leading 11-10. The Engineers outscored the Mariners 14-10 in the second quarter to take a 25-20 advantage into the break.
In the second half, WPI managed to put up back-to-back 20-point quarters, while limiting MMA to 12 and 10 points, respectively, over the final two frames to pick up the 65-42 win.

Addison Forry tallied seven points and a team-high 13 rebounds.
MMA returns to action on Dec. 30 when it hosts the University of Southern Maine at home with tipoff scheduled for 4 p.m.
