BRISTOL, R.I.--The Maine Maritime Academy men's wrestling team traveled here to begin the month of February at the Roger Williams University duals at the RWU Campus Recreation Center Field House on Saturday.

Maine Maritime opened the losses to regional powers the host RWU Hawks and Bridgewater (Mass.) State.

In a 36-11 defeat at the hands of Plymouth State, MMA freshman Kyle Stickel won at 174 pounds via technical fall over Cooper Carlson. Classmate Gavin Ripley also was victorious with a pin in just 30 seconds against Cam Monahan at 141.

The Mariners will host Norwich University in its lone home match a week from Sunday (2 p.m.) in Smith Gymnasium.
