WELLESLEY, Mass. -- Senior
Carson Trout and sophomore
John Driscoll won individual titles on Sunday to help push Maine Maritime Academy's point total to 764.5 points, which is good enough for a runner-up finish in the Mariners first season in the 2025 Little East Conference Men's and Women's Swimming & Diving Championships hosted at the Boston Sports Institute for the last four days.
Maine Maritime trailed just Eastern Connecticut State University (845 points) in the men's team standings. (

Trout won his third individual LEC event after a record-breaking first-place finish in the 100-yard freestyle in 47.22 seconds. Driscoll also etched his name in the LEC meet recordbook with a 24.60 second swim in the 50-backstroke.
Maine Maritime also was bestowed two major individual awards as Trout is the LEC Men's Swimmer of the Year and junior Oliver Cox is the LEC Men's Diver of the Year after winning the 3- and 1-meter events earlier in the Championships.

Aidan Burke registered a third-place showing in the 200-breaststroke in 2 minutes and 15.27 seconds. The 400-free relay team of senior

Ponce Saltysiak and Trout also had a third-place finish in 3:14.31.
Next Saturday, Maine Maritime returns to the state of Maine and will compete in the Husson University Last Chance meet on Saturday (noon) in Bangor.
