Women’s Lacrosse Lands Six on the CSC Academic All-District® Women’s At-Large Team

GREENWOOD, Ind.- Maine Maritime's Ella Bowes (Valley Lee, Md.), Rebecca Caron (Naples, Maine), Lillian Diversi (West Gardiner, Maine), Kirra Magaña (Miami, Fla.), Hazel Stoddard (Old Orchard Beach, Maine), and Abby Wong (Irvine, Calif.). have been named to the 2024-2025 College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District® Women's At-Large team. The CSC Academic All-District® teams recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances in competition and in the classroom.

The minimum criteria includes at least a sophomore academically and athletically, a 3.50 cumulative grade-point average or above, and competed in 90 percent of the institution's games played or must start in at least 66 percent of the institution's games.

Bowes, a junior Marine Transportation Operations major, started in goal for all 14 of Maine Maritime's games this season. Bowes faced 243 shots and made 86 saves, finishing with a 48.9% save percentage. Bowes posted a 12-2 overall record, allowing just 7.06 goals per game, while recording 22 ground balls and causing five turnovers.

Caron, a junior Marine Transportation Operations major, played in all 14 games this season for the Mariners, surpassing 100 career points. Caron tallied 24 goals, including three game-winning goals, six assists, for a total of 30 points, while scooping up 17 ground balls, securing five draw controls and causing five turnovers.

Diversi, a sophomore International Business and Logistics major, started in 13 games this season, surpassing both the 100 career-goal and point plateau and was named to the NAC All-Conference team. Diversi tallied 49 goals, including two game winners, 15 assists to total 64 points this season, while also adding 22 ground balls, 10 caused turnovers and three draw controls.     

Magaña, a senior Marine Systems Engineering major, started in 10 games this season for the Mariners, and was named the NAC Women's Lacrosse 2025 Co-Senior Scholar-Athlete of the Year. Magaña tallied 13 goals, 11 assists, for a total of 24 points, while also adding 52 draw controls,  30 ground balls, and 14 caused turnovers. 

Stoddard, a senior Power Engineering Technology major, started in all 14 games for the Mariners this season. Stoddard, a four-time All-NAC First Team selection, repeated as the NAC's Player of the Year this year. Stoddard led the Mariners and the NAC with 57 goals, including two game winners, and 37 assists to total 94 points, while also leading in both the conference and the Mariners shots (109) and draw controls (67). The midfielder also led the Mariners with 43 ground balls. On April 29, Stoddard became the first-ever MMA placer to earn a Division III Offensive Player of the Week nod from the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association and in May was selected to the 2025 Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) Senior All-Star Game and was named to the  2025 All-ECAC Women's Lacrosse Team.

Wong, a sophomore Marine Systems Engineering major, was a pillar for the MMA defense leading the NAC with 28 caused turnovers and leading the team with 36 ground balls, while capturing a personal-best 16 draw controls this season. Wong helped the Mariners rank first in the conference and 15th in the nation in scoring defense at 7.0 goals allowed per game. Wong recorded her first two career goals against Thomas on April 12 and earned NAC All-Conference honors following the season. 

Both Magaña and Stoddard were selected as CSC Academic All-America® finalists and will advance to the national ballot to be voted on by CSC members. NCAA, NAIA and College Division Women's At-Large Academic All-America® First-, second- and third-team honorees will be announced on Tuesday, July 8, 2025.
