CASTINE, Maine – After an extensive national search, Maine Maritime Academy is proud to announce the hiring of Levi Evans as the next Head Coach of the Mariners Women's Soccer program.

Evans brings over two decades of coaching experience across the youth, high school, and collegiate levels, including previous NCAA Division I and II roles. His most recent positions include Head Girls' Soccer Coach at Thunder Basin High School and Academy Program Technical Director with the Gillette Soccer Club in Wyoming. Notably, he served as Head Coach of the University of Mary Women's Soccer team from 2004–2012, successfully guiding the program's transition from NAIA to NCAA Division II and earning multiple conference championships along the way.

"I'm excited to hit the ground running with the 2025 season," said Evans. "We will look to keep progressing forward with what Coach Ashby and the team established last season. We will encourage the Mariners to strive to win in the classroom, on the pitch, and within the community."

Evans is a seasoned leader with a proven track record of competitive success and holistic athlete development. Over his collegiate coaching career, he amassed a 118-87-26 record and mentored numerous all-conference, academic, and all-region players.

"After a nationwide search, we are excited and proud to announce Coach Levi Evans as our next Head Women's Soccer Coach at Maine Maritime Academy," said Bill Mottola, Director of Athletics. "Coach Evans has a proven record of success everywhere he has coached and brings a wealth of experience and knowledge to Mariners athletics."

Evans holds multiple advanced coaching certifications, including a U.S. Soccer "A" License and a Premier Diploma from the United Soccer Coaches. His passion for the game and commitment to student-athlete development make him an ideal fit to lead the Mariners into a new era.
