NORTHFIELD, Vt. — The Maine Maritime Academy football team fell to Norwich University 63-0 on Saturday in non-conference action.
Norwich (1-2) led 21-0 after the first quarter and built a 42-0 advantage over Maine Maritime (0-2) at the half. The Cadets added 21 points in the final 30 minutes to secure their first win of the season.
Freshman
Evan Arceneaux led the Mariners through the air, completing nine passes for 61 yards.
Sophomore
Auston Harris rushed for 22 yards on 10 carries and added four receptions for 15 yards. Sophomore
Will Keach hauled in the longest completion of the day, a 21-yard catch.
On defense, sophomores
Lucas Houghton and
Matt Gagin each recorded seven tackles. Freshman
Theo Blanke tallied two tackles for loss, and freshman
Brady Hedstrom recovered a fumble.
The Mariners open their home slate at Ritchie Field on Saturday, hosting Keystone College at 1 p.m. in the first of two straight home games.
