BIDDEFORD, Maine — The Maine Maritime Academy women's cross-country team opened its 2025 season at the Ron Ouellette Invitational hosted by the University of New England on Saturday.
The Mariners were led by junior
Sophie Sabet, who finished 17th overall with a career-best 2-mile time of 14 minutes, 37.7 seconds.
Senior
Kylie Cantlon finished as the Mariners' next scoring runner, posting a time of 18:12.0, while sophomore Abigail Cormier, senior
Lillian Verrill and sophomore Natalie Cady rounded out MMA's lineup with times of 23:09.7, 24:18.9 and 24:26.9, respectively.
Next up for the Mariners is the State of Maine Intercollegiate Championship on Sept. 20 in Brunswick, hosted by Bowdoin College at Pickard Field Cross Country Course.
