CASTINE, Maine — The Maine Maritime Academy women's soccer team added another commitment to its 2026 recruiting class, as Brenna Phalen will join the Mariners this coming season.
Phalen joins the Mariners from Colorado Springs, Colorado where she attended Air Academy High School and played three years of varsity soccer including being named captain as a senior.
In addition to her high school career, Phalen played two years of club soccer of Pride SC ECNL-RL and three years for the National Premier League.
A defender/forward, Phalan has earned Pikes Peak Athletic Conference Honorable Mention twice and finished second in the Mountain West Conference in the NPL.
"I'm proud and excited to be a student-athlete at MMA, Phalen said. "I'm looking forward to living in a different part of the country and getting to know my new teammates."
Off the field, Phalen is a three-time Academic All-State First Team selection, has been selected as a merit scholar for three years and is the American Sign Language Honor Society President.
"Thank you to all my family for always supporting me and cheering me on I could've never done this without you," Phalen added. "Thank you to all my teammates that kept soccer fun for me and pushed to make me a better player. Thank you coach Frankie for giving me the best last season and coach Espen for always pushing me to do my best."
While at MMA, Phalen plans to study marine transportation operations.
