Women’s soccer adds Cyr to 2026 recruiting class

CASTINE, Maine — The Maine Maritime Academy women's soccer team added another commitment to it 2026 recruiting class, as Kylee Cyr will join the Mariners for the upcoming fall season.

Cyr joins the Mariners from Canterbury, Connecticut where she attended Norwich Free Academy and played three years of varsity soccer.

In addition to her high school career, Cyr played club soccer for the Connecticut Rush Select 08 Girls team for five seasons. Winning the 2021 New England Surf Cup, Juventus Invitation Champions in 2023, won the 2022 Northeast DPL championship and qualified for regionals as well as making the ECNL RL Regional Championship in North Carolina in 2024.

A four-time team of the week selection for the Connecticut Rush, Cyr was also named to the Eastern Connecticut Conference First Team Division I All-Star Team and was the Norwich Free Academy Defensive Player of the Year.

"I am beyond excited for the amazing opportunities available to me as I represent Maine Maritime Academy both on and off the field," Cyr said.  "It's a true honor, and I am thrilled to be part of such an amazing team!"

Of the field, Cyr has been named student of the month, is a National Honor Society Member and is part of the Science National Honors Society at Norwich Free Academy.

"This accomplishment wouldn't have been possible without the support of my family, coaches, and other special people who have been part of my journey!" Cyr added. "I am so grateful for their encouragement, guidance and belief in me."

While at MMA, Cyr plans to study marine systems engineering.
