CASTINE, Maine — The Maine Maritime Academy women's soccer team added another commitment to its 2026 recruiting class, as Emily Richards has committed to play for the Mariners this upcoming season.
Richards joins the Mariners from Montville, Maine, where she attended Mount View High School and played four years of varsity soccer.
A three-time KVAC all-conference first team selection, Richards was a two-time team most valuable player and led the team in scoring for four-straight years.
Additionally, Richards played club soccer for seven years and won three premier league state championships.
"I am so excited to be continuing my soccer journey at MMA," Richards said. "I fell in love with the team culture so the opportunity to keep playing the sport I love with amazing people is a blessing."
Named student of the year at Mount View, Richards is also a National Honor Society member, National Technical Honor Society member, Spanish seal of biliteracy, all-state academic team selection in basketball and plans to student marine systems engineering at MMA.
"I would like to thank all my friends and family who have supported me over the years," Richards added. "A special thank you to all the coaches at the Pitch and from Dirigo Soccer Club."
