– The National Wrestling Coaches Association (NWCA) has announced the NCAA Women's Scholar All-American Awards, recognizing outstanding academic achievement by individual student-athletes across the nation on Friday and Maine Maritime Academy women's wrestling freshman
Kelly Malcolm became the first athlete in program history to earn the prestigious honor.
A total of 540 student-athletes representing 92 institutions were recognized for their academic success in the classroom while competing throughout the season.
The scholar awards follow the conclusion of the NCAA Women's Championships, which took place March 6-7. McKendree captured the inaugural team title with 171 points and four individual champions.
