CASTINE, Maine — Maine Maritime Academy announced the promotion of
Craig Dagan from interim to head golf coach on Tuesday after being named interim coach last month.
"I am very grateful to be coaching the golf team again here in Mariners athletics," Dagan said. "I look forward to surrounding our young men and women with great resources to help them succeed in the classroom and on the course."
Dagan takes over a program that he led from 2012-14 and again during the 2024-25 season as co-coach with
Tony DeMuro.
"We are excited for Coach Dagan to be our head golf coach," Director of Athletics
Bill Mottola said. "His coaching experience, leadership and dedication to student-athlete success make him an outstanding fit for our golf program. We look forward to seeing the program continue to grow under his guidance."
During the 2024-25 season, the Mariners finished third overall at the North Atlantic Conference Championship and posted two runner-up performances at the University of Maine at Farmington Invitational and the Thomas College Invitational. Additionally, Dagan helped two MMA golfers earn NAC all-conference honors and from 2012-14 won five tournaments as head coach.
