CASTINE, Maine — The Maine Maritime Men's Basketball is excited to welcome Carson Farnsley, a 6'3" wing from Lubbock, Texas, to the 2026 recruiting class!

Carson comes to Castine after spending last season at Brookhaven College and brings a winning pedigree from his high school career at Lubbock Christian High School. As a senior, Carson helped lead Lubbock Christian to the 2023 TAPPS 3A State Championship as part of the winningest team in school history. The following season, Lubbock Christian returned to the state championship game and finished as the 2024 TAPPS 3A State Runner-Up. His teams also won back-to-back undefeated TAPPS 3A District 1 Championships and the 2022–23 Caprock Tournament Championship.

Individually, Carson earned First Team All-State and First Team All-District honors during his high school career. He was also named to the TAPPS All-State Tournament Team, earned Caprock All-Tournament Team honors twice, and was selected to the Glen Rose All-Tournament Team. Carson also led TAPPS 3A District 1 in field goals made and field-goal percentage.

Most recently at Brookhaven, Carson averaged 5.0 points, 2.0 rebounds and 1.0 assist per game while continuing to develop his game at the college level.

Off the court, Carson enjoys golf, bowling, ping pong and video games. He chose Maine Maritime because of his belief in the direction of the program, saying: "Coach Gillette did a great job of selling the program, and after talking with him, being a part of what he was building is something I wanted to do."

He was a huge part of a team that won a TAPPS 3A State Championship, had the winningest season in school history, and then returned to the state championship game the following year. We've had a lot of success recruiting players out of TAPPS, and Carson is another guy who understands what it takes to compete and win at a high level. One of the coolest things about his visit was that one of our current players immediately remembered Carson from playing against his high school team a few years ago and talked about how well Carson had played in that game. He also comes to us with college experience and is someone who can impact winning in so many different ways. He can score the basketball, but he's just as willing to do the dirty work, defend, rebound, make the right play, and do whatever his team needs. He's tough, competitive, experienced, and knows how to win. We're really excited about what he's going to bring to our program."
